Quicky Hire Policy Center
Appropriate Use of Location Policy
Overview
Quicky Hire’s Appropriate Use of Location Policy outlines the guidelines for accurately specifying job locations. This policy ensures that job postings are clear, precise, and transparent, enhancing the search experience for job seekers and maintaining the integrity of our platform.
Effective Date: July 18, 2022
Note: This policy supersedes the Location Blasting and Remote and Work From Home Opportunities policies.
Location Variations
Policy Statement
All job postings on Quicky Hire must specify the most accurate and specific location possible. Posting jobs with location variations—locations that do not match the actual work location—is strictly prohibited.
Example
- Incorrect: Posting a job with a remote location but the actual office is in Los Angeles.
- Correct: If the job requires the employee to report to an office in Los Angeles, the location should be listed as Los Angeles. Employers have the option to hide the street address if desired.
Definition
A location variation is defined as any job posting that lists a location different from the true working location. This does not apply to roles that legitimately offer multiple working locations.
Reason for Policy
Location variations can lead to redundant, inaccurate, and misleading job search results, diminishing the user experience for job seekers who rely on precise location information to find suitable opportunities.
Posting Jobs to Statewide, Nationwide, and Remote Locations
Employers who wish to post jobs using statewide, nationwide, or "Remote" locations must adhere to the following criteria:
Statewide Jobs
- Criteria: Jobs should not require job seekers to reside in any location more specific than the state level.
- Visibility: Statewide job postings are displayed when a job seeker selects that particular state in the “Where?” search filter.
Nationwide and Remote Jobs
- Criteria: Jobs listed as nationwide or remote should not specify locations more specific than the national level.
- Visibility: Jobs posted using the country "United States" or the "Remote" location option are exclusively shown in nationwide search results.
Posting Remote Jobs
Quicky Hire supports multiple methods for posting remote roles. Employers are not required to use the city “Remote” when listing a remote job. To ensure your remote job is accurately categorized, please refer to our How to Post a Remote Job on Quicky Hire guide for detailed instructions on filtering your job posting as “Remote” while using a more specific location if necessary.
Compliance and Consequences
Compliance Requirements
- Accuracy: Ensure that all job postings reflect the true work location without any variations.
- Specificity: Use the most specific location applicable to the job to avoid ambiguity.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
- Reduced Visibility: Job postings that do not comply with the Appropriate Use of Location Policy may experience lower visibility in search results.
- Job Removal: Persistent violations may result in the removal of the job posting from Quicky Hire.
- Account Restrictions: Repeated non-compliance can lead to further restrictions on the employer’s ability to post jobs.
Purpose
The Appropriate Use of Location Policy is designed to provide job seekers with accurate and reliable location information, enhancing their ability to find suitable job opportunities. By enforcing this policy, Quicky Hire maintains a high standard of job listing quality and transparency, fostering trust and efficiency within our job marketplace.
